Semiparametric Pseudo-Likelihood Estimation in Markov Random Fields
Probabilistic graphical models for continuous variables can be built out of either parametric or nonparametric conditional density estimators. While several research efforts have been focusing on parametric approaches (such as Gaussian models), kernel-based estimators are still the only viable and wellunderstood option for nonparametric density estimation. This paper develops a semiparametric e...
متن کاملMaximum likelihood estimation in the proportional hazards cure model
The proportional hazards curemodel generalizes Cox’s proportional hazardsmodel which allows that a proportion of study subjects may never experience the event of interest. Here nonparametricmaximum likelihood approach is proposed to estimating the cumulative hazard and the regression parameters. The asymptotic properties of the resulting estimators are established using the modern empirical pro...
متن کاملMaximum likelihood estimation for semiparametric density ratio model.
In the statistical literature, the conditional density model specification is commonly used to study regression effects. One attractive model is the semiparametric density ratio model, under which the conditional density function is the product of an unknown baseline density function and a known parametric function containing the covariate information. This model has a natural connection with g...
متن کاملPseudo-likelihood estimation for a marginal multivariate survival model.
In this paper, we propose a multivariate Plackett-Dale model for survival outcomes. A pseudo-likelihood method for the estimation of the parameters is proposed and these ideas are applied to two case studies. The modelling approach is similar in spirit but different from Parner's approach. The first study is in AIDS, where the overall survival time and different opportunistic infections in HIV-...
متن کاملPseudo full likelihood estimation for prospective survival analysis with a general semiparametric shared frailty model: asymptotic theory
In this work we present a simple estimation procedure for a general frailty model for analysis of prospective correlated failure times. Earlier work showed this method to perform well in a simulation study. Here we provide rigorous large-sample theory for the proposed estimators of both the regression coefficient vector and the dependence parameter, including consistent variance estimators.
